Kall8 provides a toll-free U.S. telephone number. Incoming faxes can be routed from that number to your fax machine or delivered to your e-mail inbox. Voicemail is also available at no extra charge. The service is priced right for people who receive a low volume of faxes: For a $2 setup fee plus $2 per month, and 6.9 cents per minute.

Packetel

Flat-rate $3.95 per month (if you prepay for three or more months) allows you to receive unlimited fax pages, which are delivered to your e-mail box as TIFF attachments. You can choose a phone number in many U.S. area codes.

FaxMicro's Plus plan lets you receive unlimited pages for $4.95 per month and pay 5 cents each for outbound pages. Their toll free plan costs $9.95 per month (plus 5 cents for outbound pages), and adds a toll-free number for incoming faxes. First month of outbound faxes is free.
