Text: Looking for just the right word to precisely convey that key idea you're presenting? You're not alone. We've all experienced the struggle to put just the right ''spin'' on our written communications through just the right words. In these days of word processors and electronic thesauruses, our writing tasks are simplified mechanically, but we still have to convert our inspirations into communications. The latest incarnation of Word Finder is a solid tool to help us in our quest to communicate more effectively. This electronic thesaurus by Microlytics is a tried-and-true thesaurus that has been around for a while. Major attributes of the new version of ''Word Finder Plus'' are: * Runs under System 6.0x or higher. * Over a million synonyms, versus 220,000 for the original version. * Requires only 290k of disk space and 70K of RAM. * Compatible with the major applications: Word, Mac Write II, Works, PageMaker, MindWrite, WriteNow, HyperCard, etc. * Cheap in price but not in power. Mac User Groups can get it for 50% off. Installation of Word Finder Plus is a simple two step process. Drag the Word Finder Plus and Word Finder Plus Options icons into the System folder. You can drag the Word Finder Plus Thesaurus into any folder. I put mine in the System Folder too. Restart your Mac and you'll notice the ''WF+'' Word Finder Plus indicator as the last Menu Bar item. You can now click on ''WF+'' to pull down the Word Finder Plus options. You select a word in your document, click on the ''lookup'' option, and up pops the listing of synonyms for the selected word. You can also pull down the ''lookup'' option without a word selected and type in a word if you wish. The synonyms are grouped by meaning. Alternatively, if no synonyms were found, the eighteen words alphabetically closest to your selection are displayed. You can select a word from either list and choose ''lookup'' again to get a new set of synonyms. The dialog box also has a ''last word'' button that allows you to back track on the previous lookups. The price for User Group members is $34.95 (50% off retail) through 7/31/92. Call 1-800-828-6293. When ordering, please mention this Macintosh User Group special offer to the Customer Service Representative.
