Text: Super-duper Bloopers Review by Kevin Savetz, SMUG member Bloopers is a collection silly Mac tricks. Bloopers will amaze you with the variety of silly, useless, potentially annoying things it can make your Mac do. Bloopers can help you to make your friends and loved ones miserable, or smile with glee. Bloopers is a collection of twelve system extensions to funkify your Macintosh. It includes some time-honored standard tricks, like eyeballs in your menubar that follow your cursor around. Other cute Bloopers include a cuckoo clock and a program to make the Mac give you improbable dialog boxes of your own choosing (''GO TO THE COMPUTER STORE. BUY 16 MEGS OF MEMORY. DO NOT RESIST. DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF. ... OK/ CANCEL''). You wouldn't mind having some of these programs on your Mac for fun. A few other Bloopers, meant to be ''practical jokes'' worry me a little. Although the manual warns against putting Bloopers on a novice's machine, any user might start to worry when his cursor starts meandering aimlessly on it's own accord (another Blooper function.) Other worrisome Bloopers slow down your Mac to a crawl (appropriately called Molasses) and make the system clock run slow. Hmmm. If one of these happened to me, I'd think ''virus!'' before I thought of Bloopers. Other tricks in Bloopers bag o' tricks include: * Farm Animals - makes your Mac squawk, moo and baah. * Typewriter - hear clack-clack sounds when you type. * Burp, Fart and Vomit - just guess. * Drip - your Mac makes dripping sounds. * Mistype - swaps keys on your keyboard. The Bloopers are cute and do what they do well, bug free. These programs are all original, not rehashed shareware programs (although many of the tricks are available as shareware/free programs.) A friendly installer lets you easily install and uninstall the extensions without mucking about with the system folder. Bloopers is a fun little package, but I want to warn you all: Bloopers is powerful - please use it only for good, not evil. Bloopers is available from: Binary Software 2210 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 900 Santa Monica CA 90403 (310) 451-9044
