DATE: 8/18/87 We have arrived in Pennsylvania, and have unpacked enough to get up and running. Therefore, it's finally time to announce the release of version10.0 of Red Ryder. This is actually a pre-release announcement, as we are still waiting on the physical components of the package to arrive here (manuals, disks, boxes, labels, etc). However, it's our best guess that everything should be in place to start shipping version 10.0 sometime this week or next. Here's the inside poop on version 10.0.
NEW ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER: The FreeSoft Company 150 Hickory Drive Beaver Falls, PA 15010 (412) 846-2700
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm eastern time zone RETAIL (New Orders): The retail price is $80 ($85 in U.S. funds outside of the U.S. and Canada). Those wishing to become authorized dealers, or obtain multiple copy discounts (10 copies or more for internal use - not resale) should contact FreeSoft directly.
UPDATES: The cost for updating from a previously registered version to version 10.0 is $20 ($25 in U.S. funds outside of the U.S. and Canada). Update requests will take priority over new orders for the next 30 days, which means they will be sorted out and filled before the new orders each business day. Because of the number of update orders that we expect to fill, it is imperative that you follow all of the rules we are about to present TO THE LETTER. 1) Don't forget to enclose a check for $20 (U.S. funds). If you enclose a check for less than that amount, your update request will be returned unprocessed. 2) YOU MUST ENCLOSE THE RED RYDER MASTER DISK WE SENT YOU WHEN YOU REGISTERED OR RECEIVED A PREVIOUS UPDATE THROUGH FREESOFT. This is your proof of registration. 3) You must supply the exact name that the disk was registered under. 4) Quantity discounts are not available for update requests. 5) Write on the outside of the envelope on the BOTTOM LEFTHAND CORNER the words "10.0 Update Request" and circle it. If you forget this, your order will not be sorted out to the top of the stack. Because we are straining our suppliers, a delay in filling your order is possible. However, we will endeavor to fill and have your order in the mail within 10 days of receiving it. This announcement is necessarily brief, but a more complete list ofversion 10.0's new features will be forthcoming on the FreeSoft RoundTable. Stay tuned.
